The RoHS directive regulates the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment to limit their presence in the components concerned.

CE marking
European conformity
CE marking indicates that the product concerned meets the applicable European requirements allowing it to be placed on the market within the European Economic Area.
FDA
U.S. Food and Drug Administration
The FDA is the U.S. authority responsible, among other things, for regulating many products related to food, health, and consumer safety.
Water Quality
Water treatment industry
This accreditation is associated with the water treatment and filtration industry and helps identify products that meet the relevant standards.

ISO 9001 & ISO 14001
Quality and environmental management
The ISO 9001 standard covers quality management systems, while the ISO 14001 standard addresses environmental management.

NSF
Standards related to water and public health safety
NSF develops, among other things, standards and evaluation protocols applicable to equipment and components used in water treatment.
Water quality and NSF certification
Understanding certification standards and the assurances associated with reverse osmosis membranes.
Are your RO systems NSF certified?
A reverse osmosis membrane referenced in Josmose documentation, the RHD3013-600, holds NSF/ANSI 58 certification covering the safety of its materials. This certification does not mean that all Josmose RO systems are NSF certified. The scope of certification must always be checked for the model and components concerned.
What exactly does NSF 58 certification guarantee?
The NSF/ANSI 58 standard covers, among other things, material safety and certain characteristics of reverse osmosis systems. For the RHD3013-600 membrane, the test documents indicate an analysis covering more than 150 substances, including solvents, phthalates, nitrosamines, and hydrocarbons. No exceedances of the applicable thresholds were found. Please note: this material certification does not validate the contaminant reduction rates of the complete RO system.
What is the difference between NSF 58 and NSF 61?
The NSF/ANSI 58 standard covers home reverse osmosis water treatment systems. The NSF/ANSI 61 standard primarily addresses materials and components in drinking water distribution installations, such as pipes and valves. The two standards serve different purposes and rely on appropriate safety criteria.
How can you verify NSF certification?
Visit the official NSF website and consult the drinking water treatment equipment database. Search for the manufacturer Ningbo RXHL Technology and model RHD3013-600. Check that the certificate matches the component used in your unit and review the characteristics actually covered.
Where are the RO systems and their membranes manufactured?
Josmose technical documentation indicates that they are manufactured in China. The manufacturer of the RHD3013-600 membrane, Ningbo RXHL Technology, is monitored by NSF as part of its certification. Manufacturing origin alone is not enough to determine the quality of an RO system: materials, checks performed, and traceability are also essential.
Do you have test results for the filtered water?
Independent testing of the units is listed as ongoing in our documentation. A TDS tester also lets you measure the total amount of dissolved solids in the water before and after filtration. This measurement provides an indication of how reverse osmosis is working, but cannot, on its own, verify the absence of PFAS, pesticides, or other specific contaminants.

Installation & Maintenance
Installation
Installing your PICOS 2.0
Installing the PICOS 2.0 follows the same principle as a direct-flow RO system like the MINEROS 2.0 or the OPTIMOS .
The connections include the cold water inlet, the RO water outlet, the drain water outlet and the power supply.
Main connections
- Cold water inlet
- RO water outlet to the faucet
- Drain water outlet
- Device power supply

Maintenance
A remarkably simple single-cartridge system
The PICOS 2.0 is designed to keep maintenance to a minimum. Unlike a traditional RO system with several separate consumables, it uses a single RO + T33 cartridge.
This cartridge combines a 600 GPD reverse osmosis membrane and an activated carbon post-filter that provides final polishing of the water after reverse osmosis.
We generally recommend replacing it every 12 to 18 months. This interval may vary depending on inlet water quality, consumption and frequency of use.
1 cartridge only

12 to 18 months
Estimated interval before cartridge replacement.
Cartridge replacement
Just a few steps
No special tools are needed to replace the PICOS 2.0 cartridge.
Turn off the water supply and disconnect the power.
Open the cartridge locking system.
Remove the used cartridge.
Insert the new cartridge all the way in.
Close the locking system securely.
The process is quick and avoids the complex disassembly required by some traditional RO systems.
Automatic flushing
Automatic membrane maintenance
The PICOS 2.0 includes several automatic flushing cycles to support membrane operation.
- Automatic flush of 18 seconds at startup.
- Automatic flush of 10 seconds after 24 hours.
- Automatic flush of 10 seconds after each dispense.
Scale protection
Protecting the PICOS membrane
An RO system membrane is sensitive to scale.
Starting at 25 °f hardness, we recommend installing a water softener or, at the very least, a Scalex system.
Above 40 °f, scale treatment is strongly recommended to limit scaling and premature membrane wear.
Usage tips
Good everyday practices
Use only water from the public supply.
Never connect the PICOS to a hot water supply.
Regularly check that the connections are watertight.
If you will not be using it for an extended period, turn off the water supply and unplug the device.
After a long period of inactivity, flush the system before drinking the water.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about the PICOS 2.0
Find answers to the most common questions about filtration, installation, accessories, and use of your PICOS 2.0 RO system.
What are the different filtration stages?
The PICOS 2.0 simplifies filtration with a single encapsulated filter cartridge. It includes a 600 GPD reverse osmosis membrane and a T33 activated carbon post-filter.
That means there is only one consumable to replace, while still combining reverse osmosis purification with an activated carbon finish.
What’s included with the RO system?
The PICOS 2.0 comes with the main components needed for installation:
- PICOS 2.0 RO system
- Encapsulated filter cartridge with 600 GPD membrane
- Fittings for the water inlet and drain
- Installation manual
- Faucet for RO water

What should I do if my RO system no longer works properly?
If you have a problem with your PICOS 2.0, you can contact our team for help identifying the cause of the malfunction.
Contact us by email at contact@josmose.fr or by phone at 03 66 88 17 85.
Can I install the PICOS 2.0 myself?
Yes. The PICOS 2.0 is designed for a relatively simple home installation. Connections mainly include the cold water inlet, the RO water outlet, the drain water line, and the power supply.
If you are unsure, see our RO system installation guide or contact us.
What should I do if my RO system smells bad?
An unusual odor can appear after a period of non-use or when maintenance becomes necessary.
Does reverse osmosis water still contain minerals?
Reverse osmosis greatly reduces the concentration of dissolved mineral salts in the water.
If you want to remineralize the water after osmosis, a remineralization filter cartridge can be added when your installation setup allows it.

Reverse Osmosis
Benefits of reverse osmosis
High-precision filtration for everyday water
A reverse osmosis system uses the principle of reverse osmosis to reduce many dissolved substances and impurities present in water. This technology produces highly purified water, available directly at the faucet or water dispenser.
Why choose reverse osmosis?
The main benefits
- High-precision filtration: reverse osmosis reduces a wide range of substances present in water.
- Micropollutant reduction: the membrane acts as an especially fine barrier against many dissolved contaminants.
- Better taste and odor: filtration helps reduce chlorine in particular, along with compounds that can affect the organoleptic qualities of water.
- Fewer bottles: having filtered water at home or at work reduces the buying, storing and carrying of bottles.
- Reduced mineral content: reverse osmosis greatly reduces dissolved mineral salts, including those responsible for limescale buildup.
- Less plastic waste: a great way to cut down on single-use bottles.
