Although most of the minerals we need for good health come from food, supplementing this intake through drinking water can be beneficial. Reverse osmosis removes everything that is not pure water (H2O), including a large portion of the minerals... Even when residual minerals are removed, enough remain to provide a minimum mineral intake of around 20mg/l, which is sufficient in most cases. However, if you have mineral deficiencies or want to improve the taste of your water, you can add this remineralization filter cartridge.

Tea lovers will appreciate this option. Tea aromas need minerals to develop fully.

Maintenance

As your RO system purifies water, the amount of minerals released by the remineralization filter cartridge slowly decreases. It drops by approximately half each year. It is standard practice to replace this filter cartridge at the same time as the post-membrane filter cartridge (once a year or after 2,500 liters of water have been produced). Simply turn off the RO system, disconnect the quick-connect tubing, and reconnect it to the new filter cartridge.

Quick-connect fittings are built into the filter cartridge. You do not need to install additional fittings. Simply make a clean cut in the pure water tubing and insert the tubing sections into the ends of the filter cartridge.

Installation

The remineralization filter cartridge is installed on the pure water tubing between the RO system outlet and the faucet. 

Simply cut the tubing in two and insert the tubing sections into each end of the filter cartridge.
