The Compactos - Pump-Driven RO System

The Compactos is part of our range of pump-driven RO systems. It is very practical because it is compact, equipped with a 65-liter booster pump, and has no tank.

The different consumables required for the Compactos

Another advantage of this RO system is changing the filters: it is very simple, as they are changed from the top of the machine.

Speaking of filters, here is the list of consumables required for the RO system to work properly:

- A polypropylene fiber sediment filter: it removes all particles larger than 5 microns.

- A granular activated carbon filter: removes chlorine, organic particles, and turbidity

- An activated carbon block filter: This filter has the same role as the previous one, just to be sure!

- A 400GPD reverse osmosis membrane: filters down to 0.0001 microns (the size of a water molecule)

Optionally, you can also choose a remineralization cartridge. Since the water produced by an RO system is sometimes too pure, it may be advisable to add a few minerals for health.

Consumables replacement frequency

For this model, it is strongly recommended to replace the filters every year and the membrane after 2 years. At Josmose, we offer a 2-year maintenance kit for the Compactos. This kit contains: 4 PP filters, 2 CTO filters, 2 GAC filters, and one membrane, all compatible with this RO system model, of course.

A compact and practical reverse osmosis system

This RO system stands out above all for its practicality. Its compact size and single-unit construction make it a water purification machine that is easy to clean and install. It requires very little space, and its design blends easily into your surroundings. It is the most compact pump-driven RO system. 

One of its appealing features is how easily you can change the filters housed inside. Simply access them from the top. With its reasonably quiet operation, it barely hums thanks to its booster pump, which generates a maximum sound level of 55 dB. This specific pump increases water pressure at the machine's inlet to improve membrane performance. As a result, less “dirty” liquid is discharged, giving you the benefit of water savings in the process. In addition, its leak prevention system optimizes its energy efficiency.

Optimized 5-stage filtration for thoroughly purified water

The COMPACTOS water treatment process actually takes place in 4 stages, but a fifth filtration stage is available only on the 75 GPD model equipped with a storage tank. Here is how its filtration process works: 

  • PP sediment filter, useful for dust, sand, rust, and any particles larger than 5 microns;

 

  • Granular activated carbon filter designed to trap most organic particles and pollutants, as well as chlorine (which damages the RO membrane), while removing odors and turbidity. 

 

  • Activated carbon block filter serving the same purpose as the granular activated carbon filter to provide double filtration;



  • Passage through the RO membrane, which provides fine filtration to remove bacteria from the water, along with heavy metals, salinity, and dissolved materials, while trapping particles larger than 0.0001 microns;
  • Passage through the coconut carbon post-membrane filter cartridge to give RO water a neutral taste.
