Hidrotek Membranes for Compactos
Membranes
The Role of the RO Membrane
The RO membrane is made of TFC (Thin-Film Composite) polyamide and represents the most advanced stage of water filtration. It removes heavy metals, bacteria, and viruses. The pores of an RO membrane are so small that only water molecules (H2O) can pass through. The 3 pre-filters simply make the membrane's job easier by trapping larger particles. This helps extend its service life.

Capacity
With a 75GPD (Gallons Per Day) membrane, your RO system produces 20 cl/min of purified water, which is slow when you need to fill a pitcher. That is why the Compactos RO system using this membrane is equipped with a tank.
The 400GPD membrane is intended exclusively for use in a direct-flow Compactos RO system (without a tank).
Maintenance
An RO membrane should be replaced every two years on average. You may notice a drop in flow rate, indicating that the membrane is clogged, or an increase in TDS, indicating that the membrane is less effective at trapping unwanted particles. Replacement takes just one minute, by the clock.
Maximize your savings by purchasing maintenance kits for 2, 4, or 6 years.
