    Water quality and NSF certification

Understanding certification standards and the assurances associated with reverse osmosis membranes.

Are your RO systems NSF certified?

A reverse osmosis membrane referenced in Josmose documentation, the RHD3013-600, holds NSF/ANSI 58 certification covering the safety of its materials. This certification does not mean that all Josmose RO systems are NSF certified. The scope of certification must always be checked for the model and components concerned.

What exactly does NSF 58 certification guarantee?

The NSF/ANSI 58 standard covers, among other things, material safety and certain characteristics of reverse osmosis systems. For the RHD3013-600 membrane, the test documents indicate an analysis covering more than 150 substances, including solvents, phthalates, nitrosamines, and hydrocarbons. No exceedances of the applicable thresholds were found. Please note: this material certification does not validate the contaminant reduction rates of the complete RO system.

What is the difference between NSF 58 and NSF 61?

The NSF/ANSI 58 standard covers home reverse osmosis water treatment systems. The NSF/ANSI 61 standard primarily addresses materials and components in drinking water distribution installations, such as pipes and valves. The two standards serve different purposes and rely on appropriate safety criteria.

How can you verify NSF certification?

Visit the official NSF website and consult the drinking water treatment equipment database. Search for the manufacturer Ningbo RXHL Technology and model RHD3013-600. Check that the certificate matches the component used in your unit and review the characteristics actually covered.

Where are the RO systems and their membranes manufactured?

Josmose technical documentation indicates that they are manufactured in China. The manufacturer of the RHD3013-600 membrane, Ningbo RXHL Technology, is monitored by NSF as part of its certification. Manufacturing origin alone is not enough to determine the quality of an RO system: materials, checks performed, and traceability are also essential.

Do you have test results for the filtered water?

Independent testing of the units is listed as ongoing in our documentation. A TDS tester also lets you measure the total amount of dissolved solids in the water before and after filtration. This measurement provides an indication of how reverse osmosis is working, but cannot, on its own, verify the absence of PFAS, pesticides, or other specific contaminants.

    Installation & Maintenance

Setting up and using the Mobilos

Watch the video to learn how to set up, fill, and use your Mobilos RO water dispenser.

    Mobilos maintenance and filter replacement

The Mobilos uses a single filter cartridge that combines the different treatment stages: sediment filtration, activated carbon, and a reverse osmosis membrane.

Its capacity is estimated at approximately 2,000 liters with moderately hard water. Depending on the quality of the water used and the volume filtered, its service life generally ranges from 12 to 18 months.

The cartridge locks into place with a quarter-turn bayonet system using the wrench supplied with the unit. Turning the system automatically shuts off the water supply to the cartridge, allowing you to replace it without emptying the tanks.

    FAQ

Frequently asked questions about the Mobilos

Find answers to the main questions about installation, heating, maintenance, and everyday use of the Mobilos RO water dispenser.

Is the Mobilos ready to use?

Yes. The Mobilos comes complete and requires no permanent connection to your water supply. Simply fill the removable tank, plug the unit into an electrical outlet, and follow the initial setup instructions.

Does the Mobilos need to be connected to a water supply?

No. The Mobilos is a reverse osmosis water dispenser that requires no connection to your water supply. Its removable 4-liter tank allows you to use it without a permanent water supply or drain connection.

You can therefore install it in a kitchen, office, or break room, provided you have a suitable electrical outlet.

How much electricity does the Mobilos use?

The pump has a maximum power rating of 24 W and operates mainly when the unit produces RO water.

The instant heating system can draw up to 2,200 W when heating water on demand.

What temperatures does the Mobilos 2.0 offer?

The Mobilos 2.0 offers several preset temperatures: room temperature, 45 °C, and 95 °C.

These settings let you dispense warm water or prepare a hot beverage, among other uses.

When should you replace the Mobilos filter cartridge?

The Mobilos features an automatic replacement alert that indicates when the filter cartridge is reaching the end of its service life.

Its average service life is generally 12 to 18 months, with an estimated capacity of approximately 2,000 liters for water of moderate hardness.

How much RO water can you get from a full tank?

The removable tank holds 4 liters of water. Each fill can produce approximately 3 liters of RO water, while about 1 liter of more concentrated water remains in the tank and must be emptied before refilling.

What water can you use with the Mobilos?

The Mobilos has a TDS sensor with a safety limit set at 700 ppm. Josmose recommends feed water that does not exceed approximately 400 ppm to limit the increase in concentration in the tank.

Is the Mobilos suitable for very hard water?

Very hard water can shorten the service life of the filtration system. Above approximately 30 °f of hardness, limescale protection may be recommended.

What should you do if the water has an unusual smell or taste?

First, check the condition of the filter cartridge, the quality of the water you are using, and the cleanliness of the tanks. After a long period without use, the system may need cleaning.

    Reverse Osmosis

    Benefits of reverse osmosis

    High-precision filtration for everyday water

A reverse osmosis system uses the principle of reverse osmosis to reduce many dissolved substances and impurities present in water. This technology produces highly purified water, available directly at the faucet or water dispenser.

    Why choose reverse osmosis?

    The main benefits

    • High-precision filtration: reverse osmosis reduces a wide range of substances present in water.
    • Micropollutant reduction: the membrane acts as an especially fine barrier against many dissolved contaminants.
    • Better taste and odor: filtration helps reduce chlorine in particular, along with compounds that can affect the organoleptic qualities of water.
    • Fewer bottles: having filtered water at home or at work reduces the buying, storing and carrying of bottles.
    • Reduced mineral content: reverse osmosis greatly reduces dissolved mineral salts, including those responsible for limescale buildup.
    • Less plastic waste: a great way to cut down on single-use bottles.

    Examples of substances and impurities

Depending on the membrane used, the quality of the feed water and the operating conditions, reverse osmosis can help reduce many substances present in water.
