If you have an Ultimos RO system at home and want to maintain it, you are in the right place. It has many advantages, including automatic flushing and the ease of replacing cartridges with bayonet cartridge technology.

Purpose and choice of consumables for the Ultimos

Here are all the consumables required for your machine to work properly:

• The bayonet PP filter: this filter is crucial in improving the quality of your water. Its role is to remove all suspended particles, sediment, and impurities. In addition, thanks to its bayonet technology, replacing it is child's play (easy, quick, and requires no tools).

• The KBF multi-filter: this filter comes in at the second stage of the process to mainly treat chlorine, thanks to the activated carbon it contains.

• The 400GPD bayonet membrane: the membrane comes in at the final stage of your water treatment to remove 99% of contaminants, including heavy metals, bacteria, viruses, pharmaceutical residues, and PFAS (also known as “forever chemicals”).

Frequency and replacement of consumables

It is recommended to replace the filters (PP and KBF multi-filter) every year for optimal use of your RO system.

As for the membrane, it generally needs to be replaced every 2 to 3 years. However, this duration varies: you may need to replace it before 2 years of use. Indeed, the quality and lifespan of the membrane can be affected by the hardness of your water.
