25 or 37 Liter Water Softener with ECOMIX Resin
Premium Water Softeners
Why choose a water softener?
Looking to improve your everyday comfort? Want to help your equipment last longer? A water softener is the ideal solution for you.
It protects your household appliances
Hard water (water high in ions, calcium, and magnesium) can cause your household appliances to deteriorate faster. This water promotes limescale buildup in your appliances, affecting their efficiency and lifespan.
The water softener's role is to remove limescale and calcium.
It improves water quality
Thanks to the various filters, your water will taste better and have a pleasant smell
It supports your health
Softening hard water drastically reduces allergies, irritation, and the risk of illnesses linked to water pollution.
It reduces your energy consumption
Limescale deposits on the heating elements of water heaters and other appliances increase their energy consumption. With soft water, your equipment operates more efficiently and uses less electricity, helping you lower your energy bill.
Water softener overview and operation
How do these water softeners work? Anthracite water softeners use a multistep process to treat water and remove the minerals responsible for its hardness:
Filtration and ion exchange
Hard water passes through an ion-exchange resin that captures calcium and magnesium ions and replaces them with sodium ions, making the water softer.
Smart automatic regeneration
When it reaches its maximum capacity, the resin needs to be cleaned to keep working efficiently. Anthracite water softeners use an automatic regeneration process with several steps:
- Backwashing: Water flows in the opposite direction to remove impurities.
- Brine draw: A saline solution (water + salt) passes through the resin to release the captured calcium and magnesium ions.
- Final rinse: Residue is removed to ensure thoroughly softened water.
Model-specific technologies
Anthracite models stand out for their use of advanced technologies that optimize water treatment:
- Clack® DV system: A smart control valve for more precise regeneration and better flow rate control.
- High-capacity resin: Ensures lasting efficiency even with very hard water.
- ECOMIX® A filter media (ECOMIX resin model only): In addition to softening, this media removes iron, manganese, and organic matter, making it ideal for well water or water containing specific impurities.
Ecomix resin holds ACS certification (French Certificate of Sanitary Compliance). This France-specific certification is costly and optional, so most of our products do not have it. However, it is a mark of quality for water softeners equipped with this specific resin, particularly for facilities open to the public.

Calculate Your Needs
How do you choose the resin volume?
Size your water softener in 4 steps
1. Estimate your daily water needs
Simply take your bills for the year, add up the billed water volumes, and divide by the number of days you were at home.
Reference point: average water consumption in France is around 150 liters per day per person.
2. Decide on the water volume between regenerations
For example, you live as a couple, so you use about 300 liters of water per day.
If your goal is to regenerate the resin in your Ideal every 7 days on average, you get 2,100 liters.
3. Measure your water hardness
Tests are available as strips or a liquid at any home improvement store.
4. Calculate your resin needs
Calculation formula
Resin volume = Regeneration volume × TH / 5,000

Installation & Maintenance
Installation
Are you considering installing a water softener in your home? Here are a few tips to help you prepare and ensure the best installation conditions:
- Location: this may seem obvious, but your water softener should be installed near a water supply connection and a sink, with enough space left for maintenance.
- Electrical connection: other water softener models can operate without an electrical connection, but these models must be plugged into an electrical outlet (230V)
- Plumbing connection: the fitting and pipes must have a standard size of 1''
For more information, we provide a digital user manual, which you will also receive in printed form with your water softener
Maintenance
Maintaining Anthracite water softeners is simple, as it mainly involves checking and refilling the salt tank, which is essential for regenerating the ion-exchange resin. We also recommend checking the outlet water hardness to ensure your unit is correctly adjusted.
The Gold model, equipped with ECOMIX® A filter media, also requires monitoring of the media's condition. It should be replaced approximately every 5 to 7 years, depending on the quality of the water being treated.
An advantage of these models is their automatic regeneration and Clack® DV valve, which optimize salt and water consumption, reducing manual maintenance. However, an annual inspection by a professional is recommended to ensure optimal operation and extend your unit's service life.
For both models, periodic cleaning of the salt tank and rinsing of the circuit help prevent impurity buildup.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about your water softener
How can you tell if your water is too hard?
Water is considered "hard" when it contains a high concentration of minerals, mainly calcium and magnesium. Here are several ways to check your water hardness:
- Visible signs in your home : limescale deposits, white spots on your dishes after washing, and rapid scale buildup in your household appliances
- Test your water hardness : Choose a drop test kit, or ask your water supplier directly.
Your water is: very soft (between 0 and 7 °f), soft (between 7 and 15 °f), moderately hard (between 15 and 30 °f), hard (between 30 and 40 °f), very hard (+40 °f)
Can you adjust your water hardness to your preferences?
Of course! You can adjust your water's residual hardness level to your preferences. This is done through the control valve, where you can program the amount of calcium and magnesium ions to leave in the water.
What comes with your water softener?
- A salt tank
- An installation and user manual
- A connection kit (depending on the model, it may include flexible hoses, fittings, and an overflow trap)
- Ion exchange resin (preinstalled in the unit)
What should you do if your water softener stops working properly?
- If you notice a problem with your water softener's operation, we recommend contacting us by email or phone first so we can try to resolve the issue remotely.
- If the issue persists despite our remote assistance, we will ask you to send it back so we can test it at our facility and identify the fault.
- If we find and resolve the issue, we will send it back as soon as possible so you receive it quickly.
- If we cannot resolve the fault, we commit to sending you a new model if your product is still under warranty. As a reminder, your water softener purchase includes the Josmose warranty, which covers you for 5 years.
How long does a regeneration cycle last?
For these models, regeneration takes 80 to 110 minutes.
Can a water softener damage your plumbing?
Quite the opposite! Your water softener helps protect it. By reducing limescale buildup in pipes, it prevents deposits that can cause blockages and reduce water flow.
