Sources of Pseudomonas in water

The bacterium Pseudomonas aeruginosa or pyocyanic bacillus specializes in contaminating cold-water systems and is an unwelcome guest in hospitals, which it relentlessly contaminates : faucets, traps, sinks, showers, humidifiers, it is everywhere. 

It is highly adaptable, can multiply at temperatures up to 28 °C at a pH above 4.5, and is resistant to most antibiotics as well as ultraviolet light.
