Mixed-Bed Demineralizer for Ultrapure Water, 10 to 50 Liters
Demineralizers
Using a demineralizer: Producing ultrapure water.
First, you should know that this type of equipment is only useful when installed after a reverse osmosis system. Using it on unfiltered water would effectively soften your water, but at a much higher cost than with a water softener.
The purpose of a demineralizer is to capture the small ions that manage to pass through the RO membranes under the high pressure inside an RO system, to produce ultrapure water (TDS close to 0PPM) that is nonconductive (zero conductivity). Applications for this type of water are primarily medical, but sometimes industrial as well.
Why is this demineralizer called "mixed-bed"?
Unlike automatic demineralizers (an anion resin paired with a cation resin in series), this model has a single tank containing both a cation resin and an anion resin. This blend is called a "mixed bed".
This difference is crucial to your short-term investment cost! An automatic demineralizer costs 15 to 20 times more and only pays off over the long term in an installation treating very large volumes of pure water. With a mixed-bed demineralizer, you have a single tank and very simple operation, so your investment is lower. However, the resin cannot be regenerated and must therefore be replaced regularly (see the table below). Replacing this resin represents a significant cost to consider when choosing between a mixed-bed demineralizer and an automatic demineralizer. Contact us if you are unsure.
A complete range for all your needs
We offer 5 standard sizes for our mixed-bed demineralizers.
If your needs are greater, choose an automatic demineralizer or contact us by email for a custom quote.
