Filtration stages in industrial reverse osmosis
How industrial reverse osmosis works
The heart of the system is an osmotic membrane that retains particles larger than 0.0001 micron.
Our membranes are 21 or 40 inches long and 3.9 inches in diameter. Their connectors are 1.05 inches long with a diameter of 0.75 inch.

Reverse osmosis membrane
The membrane is the central element of the system and separates the water produced from the water concentrated with the retained elements.

Options for your industrial RO system
Pretreatments to protect the membranes
To pre-filter your water and extend the life of your osmotic membranes as much as possible, several types of pretreatment can be offered depending on water quality.
Chlorine disinfection system
When the water contains a large amount of bacteria, upstream disinfection can be set up to limit their growth and protect the membranes. This is done with an ATHENA 2 AT-AM dosing pump.

25-micron pre-filtration
If the water to be purified contains significant debris such as soil, sand or rust, a 25-micron pre-filter can be installed upstream to limit fouling of the RO system.

Limescale treatment with a water softener
Limescale can quickly clog reverse osmosis membranes. We therefore recommend neutralizing it upstream with a salt-based or CO₂ water softener.
With a salt-based water softener, magnesium and calcium are replaced by non-scaling sodium. This solution requires a regular supply of salt and regeneration cycles.
CO₂ softening is a compact alternative with no drain discharge, based on converting carbonate into non-scaling bicarbonate.

Chlorine treatment with activated carbon
Chlorine is harmful to the membranes of an RO system. It must therefore be removed upstream with an activated carbon system.
The minimum capacity provided for the most demanding dechlorination cases is estimated at 150 to 200 m³ of treated water per kilogram of carbon.

Packaging and delivery
Protection suited to professional transport
Our industrial RO systems are delivered packed in a wooden crate to protect the equipment during transport. Shipping is made directly to you once we receive the balance of your payment.

Installation & Maintenance
Installation
Setting up your industrial RO system
Our factory works in partnership with the WQA (Water Quality Association) and is therefore able to install our industrial equipment anywhere in the world. In practice, most of our customers install the equipment themselves by following the complete user manual provided. We also offer phone support for setting up the equipment.
Maintenance
Replacing consumables
Filters and membranes must be replaced regularly to maintain system performance.
