How PROLIME works

The PROLIME is a physical hard water treatment system that works without salt or added chemicals.
The device does not change the chemical composition of the water. It acts on the physical characteristics of limescale crystals to limit their ability to adhere to surfaces.
Good to know: water hardness and conductivity remain measurable before and after treatment, since PROLIME does not remove calcium or magnesium from the water.
How does PROLIME act on limescale?
In untreated water, calcium and magnesium compounds can crystallize and form deposits that adhere to pipes, heating elements, and equipment.
PROLIME generates electronic pulses transmitted to the water through bands installed around the pipe. According to the operating principle described by the manufacturer, these pulses modify limescale crystallization to promote a less adhesive form.

Why limit limescale deposits?
When water heats up or undergoes a pressure change, dissolved limescale-forming compounds can settle on surfaces and inside equipment.

The pulses generated by the system aim to modify calcium and magnesium crystallization to reduce their ability to form solid deposits in pipes and equipment.

Gradually act on existing deposits
According to the manufacturer, reducing the formation of new deposits allows the natural dissolution process in water to gradually act on some existing scale buildup.
Effect 3
Protection for metal pipes
The manufacturer states that the treatment may promote the formation of a metal carbonate layer that could help protect metal surfaces against oxidation and corrosion.
Installation without contact with water
PROLIME is installed on the outside of the pipe. There is therefore no need to cut or directly modify the plumbing for the pulse bands to work.
The frequencies are generated by the electronic unit and transmitted through the bands wrapped around the pipe. These work in pairs and create the field used by the device.

The benefits of PROLIME
A lower investment
PROLIME is advertised as costing approximately one-half to one-third as much as a conventional water softener.
No salt or resin
The system requires neither salt refills nor periodic replacement of ion-exchange resin.
No regeneration wastewater

Installation and operation
How long does it take for the scale prevention effect to wear off?
According to the manufacturer, the treatment acts on calcium carbonate circulating inside the pipe exposed to the pulses. It is not a signal transmitted through neighboring pipes.
Are certificates or test reports available?
The manufacturer states that the product is CE certified and tested for household use. It specifies that its detailed reports are not published.
Are there any special installation precautions?
The manual specifies the required distances and number of wraps. The cables remain attached to the equipment to limit the risk of accidental disconnection.
If your installation has only one cold water pipe, the manufacturer states that you can use only the blue cable or wrap both cables side by side around the same pipe.
Does iron-rich water affect performance?
According to the manufacturer, the device’s operation is unaffected when it is correctly installed on a drinking water pipe.
