Premium Duplex Commercial Water Softener 75 to 250 Liters
Duplex Water Softeners
▶ Introducing the Premium Duplex Commercial Water Softener
Introducing the Premium Duplex Commercial Water Softener
This water softener is designed to reduce water hardness and concentrations of iron, manganese, ammonium, and organic matter.
This commercial water softener is commonly used in cottages, restaurants, laundromats, car washes, breweries, and bakeries.
The water softener consists of a tank containing special Ecomix softening resin, a multifunction control valve that controls and manages the entire operation, and a salt tank for regeneration.

▶ How Does It Work?
How It Works
How the Water Softener and ECOMIX Resin Work
![]() |
ECOMIX Resin Regeneration ProcessAfter treating a certain volume of water, the resin loses some of its filtering capacity and must be regenerated. The control valve waits until the selected time (2 a.m. by default) and starts resin regeneration. This consists of 5 successive steps performed by the valve. First, a backwash removes iron, manganese, and ammonium compounds from the resin. Then brine (salt water from the tank) flows through the resin. Limescale and organic matter are washed away with the remaining solution and discharged into the drain. The third step is a short wash that stirs the resin and removes the remaining salt. After regeneration, the resin is rinsed with water to settle its different layers back into place. Finally, the water softener tank is filled with freshly softened water to dissolve the salt tablets and prepare the brine for the next regeneration. |
The water softener connects to the cold water supply, upstream of all the equipment you want to protect. Water that has been pre-filtered to remove impurities enters the resin tank. This patented, next-generation resin consists of five layers of materials inside a rigid vessel. Water flows through each layer, which successively captures iron, manganese, ammonium, organic matter, and, of course, hardness. The purified, softened water then exits through the riser tube in the water softener's resin tank.
Ecomix resin holds ACS certification (Certificate of Sanitary Compliance). This France-specific accreditation is costly and optional, so most of our products do not have it, but it is a mark of quality for water softeners equipped with this specific resin, especially for facilities open to the public.
▶ Installation
Installation
The water softener connects directly to your cold water supply and can be installed in a utility room, laundry room, or basement. Its standard 1” connection is compatible with most commercial installations.
Startup is easy with the included guide, or you can have it handled by a professional of your choice.
Learn how to connect your control valve step by step in our video tutorial.
▶ Maintenance
Maintenance
Our commercial water softeners are designed to operate fully independently thanks to their smart control valve. Maintenance mainly consists of:
- Refilling the salt tank regularly (every 2 to 4 months depending on water consumption)
- Occasionally checking the water level in the brine tank
- Performing an annual general inspection (easy to do yourself or have done by a certified technician)
With Ecomix resin, no media replacement is needed for 10 years, ensuring very low maintenance costs.
Tip: to extend your system's service life, we recommend installing a sediment pre-filter at the water inlet.
▶ FAQ
FAQ
How long does Ecomix resin last?
Ecomix resin can last up to 10 years without replacement, depending on water quality and the volume treated.
Does the unit operate during regeneration?
Yes, thanks to the duplex system (two vessels), softened water remains continuously available during regeneration.
What type of salt should I use?
We recommend salt tablets specifically designed for water softeners, compliant with EN 973 Type A.
Does the water softener use a lot of electricity?
No, the electronic valve consumes only 30 W, less than an LED light bulb.
Can I install the water softener myself?
Yes, if you have basic plumbing skills. Otherwise, we recommend hiring a professional installer for optimal startup.
What is included with the system?
- Resin vessel
- Clack WS2 СЕ multifunction electromechanical control valve (USA)
- Salt tank for regeneration
- Premium Ecomix softening resin
