Protein in Water - DIY Test
Water Testers
Check protein and amino acid levels in your water with this test kit
Why test protein levels in water?
Drinking water quality : The presence of proteins in drinking water may indicate contamination by microbial organisms or organic matter of animal or plant origin. High protein levels may indicate biological contamination and the presence of bacteria, viruses or other pathogens, which can compromise drinking water safety.
Monitoring aquatic ecosystem health : Monitoring protein levels in aquatic ecosystems can provide information about the health and integrity of these ecosystems. High protein levels may be associated with organic pollution and environmental disturbances, which may require appropriate management and restoration measures.
How can you test for protein in your water?
This strip test is extremely simple.

Take a test strip and dip it into the water |
After about twenty seconds, compare the strip's color with the scale on the back of the box. |
The test strip result indicates whether your water contains: 0; 0.1; 0.2; 0.5; 0.5; 1; 2 or 5 g/l of protein.
