6 to 110W UV Lamp for Water Sterilization

Description

UV radiation doesn't just kill vampires! Bacteria and viruses can't withstand it either. Any pathogens living in your RO water tank, or simply in your rainwater or well water, will be zapped as they pass through this system before reaching your faucet. This accessory provides an effective additional safeguard to ensure the purity of your drinking water, especially if your RO system has a tank.

For the 6W, 16W and 25W models, the system comes with a PHILIPS TUV G6T5 42V bulb, also available in stores for a few euros, 2 clips for mounting it on the post-membrane filter cartridge, and quick-connect adapters for connecting 1/4" tubing. The 55W and 110W models come with an OSRAM bulb.

Please note that the UV lamp heats the first few centiliters of water when left on continuously. To address this,  simply install an on/off system.

Maintenance

A PHILIPS bulb has a service life of 9,000 hours, and an OSRAM lamp lasts 8,000 hours. You should therefore replace it at least once a year if you never turn it off. You can easily tell if it is off because the powerful light it produces is slightly visible at the connection seals.
To replace the bulb, disconnect your RO system and the UV system from power, then slide the plastic sleeve to access the glass tube containing the bulb. It only takes 2 minutes!
