This sensor is called universal because it works both with and without a pressurized tank. It is designed to open the electrical circuit (cut off power to the pump) as soon as the outlet pressure exceeds 4.5 bars and close the circuit again as soon as it drops below 2 bars. In practice, your RO system stops producing water when the tank is full and/or the faucet is closed and starts again when the tank is partially empty or the faucet is open on a direct-flow RO system.
