A Reverse Osmosis System—What's That ???

Explaining a reverse osmosis system to a 5-year-old

Reverse Osmosis System Explained to a Child

Dad, what's a reverse osmosis system?

(Phew! Here we go, he's reached the age of questions! How do I explain it to him?) Well, my little Jules... We humans need to drink water.

Well! Except when it's time for a drink before dinner, Dad :-)

Yes, except when it's time for a drink before dinner, Jules :-) (My little boy is clever!) Now, let's get back to it. We need to drink water. But not all water is good to drink. When we go for a walk in the park on a sunny Sunday, no one drinks the lake water… Because it isn't good to drink. Well, a reverse osmosis system is a little machine that gives you good water!

Oh, so it's like a coffee machine, but for water, right?

Yes, exactly. You install the RO system in the kitchen, usually under the sink, and the RO system gives you pure water, RO water, good-quality water!

But then, why does Grandma buy bottled water?

Because Grandma believes everything she's told. On television, the ads praise the benefits of mineral water, forgetting to mention that mineral water should only be drunk from time to time, certainly not every day. But she's stubborn and watches far too much TV! A bit like you ;). Grandma would be better off installing an RO system at home, especially with her kidney problems!

Yeah, and bottled water is heavy, too! That way, Grandma won't have to tire herself out carrying packs of water anymore!

Exactly, she'll save her energy to play with you :-)

What can we learn from this conversation about reverse osmosis between Jules and his dad?

A reverse osmosis system is a machine that:

fits easily under your kitchen sink (or elsewhere)
provides as much purified water as you want
lets you avoid the chore of carrying packs of water
avoids two sources of pollution: driving to the supermarket and plastic bottles, which have serious consequences for the environment
takes care of our health by removing all the poisons increasingly present in our soil.

In conclusion, a reverse osmosis system produces water purified to the highest degree at the best cost!

Science enthusiasts, please forgive the simplicity of this conclusion! Our company has made it its mission to make reverse osmosis technology accessible to everyone in France and, more broadly, in Europe. So, we try to make our message understandable to as many people as possible.
