The Benefits of Reverse Osmosis Water
Water pollution
Water, H2O, is likely the molecule that marked the beginning of life on our planet. It covers 70% of the planet and makes up approximately 70% of our bodies.
Water is therefore certainly one of the most precious resources for both our ecosystem and the individuals within it.
Pure water, meaning water free of any toxic pollutants, was once abundant on Earth.
Unfortunately, water today is heavily polluted on a vast scale by all kinds of contaminants that are toxic to our health, such as :
⦁ heavy metals (lead, mercury, cadmium, arsenic, chromium, copper, etc.)
⦁ pesticides and herbicides (atrazine, glyphosate, neonicotinoids, chlorpyrifos, etc.)
⦁ volatile organic compounds (benzene, toluene, formaldehyde, dichloromethane, etc.)
⦁ chlorinated solvents (chloroform, trichloroethylene, methylene chloride, etc.)
⦁ microorganisms and pathogens (bacteria, viruses, protozoa, etc.)
⦁ chemical pharmaceuticals (synthetic hormones, antibiotics, anti-inflammatory drugs, etc.)
The reasons for this harmful situation are clearly multifaceted, but the most serious issue is that tap water, supposedly filtered and purified through complex, professional, standardized processes at treatment plants, is actually not free of most of these toxic contaminants.
Worse still, most of these processes add chemical contaminants to the water (chemical treatment), such as chlorine.
Faced with this troubling reality, each of us needs to find an effective way to filter our own water to remove these toxic contaminants.
This is where reverse osmosis comes in, the best water purification process currently available to everyone on the market.
Reverse osmosis is obviously not the only option, but it is by far the best in terms of quality, effectiveness, and price.

Optimal purification
Reverse osmosis water is filtered down to 0.0001 micron. To give you a sense of scale, 1 micron = 0.001 millimeter.
At this extremely fine filtration level, pathogens, chemical pharmaceuticals, and organic compounds such as pesticides and solvents, which are so problematic for our health, can be removed from tap water.
This level of filtration is achievable thanks to a device called a reverse osmosis system. Among other components, a reverse osmosis system contains a semipermeable membrane (which only allows water molecules to pass through), enabling water to be pushed through this membrane by “reverse osmosis” to remove its pollutants.
We would like to draw attention to people who buy bottled water thinking they are avoiding the toxic pollutants in tap water.
In addition to being environmentally unsound and significantly more expensive, drinking bottled water does not mean drinking water free of pollutants.
In fact, bottled water packaged in plastic bottles is easily contaminated by phthalates contained in the plastic, the best known of which is bisphenol A (BPA).
Like all phthalates, bisphenol A is an endocrine disruptor that is toxic to our bodies. Following various scandals, almost all brands have introduced BPA-free plastic bottles.
These bottles may be “BPA free,” but they still contain other phthalates that are just as toxic to our health, such as BPB, BPC, BPE, etc.
In our view, this clearly demonstrates that bottled water is an environmental, economic, and health dead end.

Detoxification and hydration of our tissues
As you can see, the benefits of reverse osmosis water primarily lie in removing a large number of pollutants present in tap water…but that is not all.
Today, many of us have lost the habit of simply drinking water. With an impressive variety of beverages available (coffee, tea, sodas, juices, smoothies, herbal teas, etc.), you can easily end up with an indirect water intake (water contained in a beverage) far greater than your direct water intake (drinking plain water).
This trend is further reinforced by the unpleasant chlorine taste of tap water.
Yet, for optimal hydration and proper detoxification of your body, drinking plain water is essential.
To eliminate a large number of toxic substances and pollutants, our bodies use pure water as a kind of carrier to transport these unwanted substances out of our bodies.
Reverse osmosis water meets this need by providing pure water without an unpleasant taste that is easy for everyone to drink, including people who have lost the habit of drinking water.

Mineral intake without pollutants
The biggest weakness of reverse osmosis water is inherent in how it is produced. Reverse osmosis filtration removes pollutants from water, but also the beneficial minerals it contains. Simply put, we clean water by removing both the bad and the good.
This unavoidable problem, linked to water pollution, can nevertheless be minimized through a remineralization step for reverse osmosis water. In practice, this involves one or more post-filters in the reverse osmosis system that remineralize the water after reverse osmosis filtration.
This will not be equivalent to naturally pure water, but it is currently the best option for getting minerals from water without pollutants.
We should clarify that, contrary to a still widely held belief, minerals are best absorbed from food rather than water. Drinking highly mineralized water is therefore not particularly beneficial to your health.

Affordability and a wide selection
As we explained at the beginning of this article, tap water should be free of all pollutants. Yet, even though every citizen pays for this through various taxes, this is not the case.
Any effort to clean this contaminated water therefore represents, above all, an additional financial burden that each of us must bear to obtain what should be a fundamental, guaranteed right : access to pure, healthy water.
Here again, reverse osmosis water stands out by offering an effective solution with excellent value for money.
Today, for a few hundred euros, you can get a good reverse osmosis system that will do the job very well.
But the benefits do not stop there. Today, the range of reverse osmosis systems available on the market is extensive and can meet a wide variety of needs.
Some reverse osmosis systems operate without electricity, others do not require a connection to the municipal water supply (RO water dispenser), and others are very compact and stylish.
This means you can find the right reverse osmosis system model to suit your needs.
In summary
Water is one of the most important elements for our health. Our bodies need a daily intake of pure, healthy water to support their physiological functions.
Today, because of widespread water pollution on a massive scale, anyone seeking to improve or maintain their health must personally ensure that the water they drink is pure and healthy.
To do so, you need to choose an effective, practical solution suited to your needs.
Among the many water filtration and purification solutions on the market, reverse osmosis stands out as the best, delivering reverse osmosis water that is pure, healthy, and pleasant to drink.
